6 Georgian Wines Receive 90+ Points in Wine & Spirits Magazine
6 Georgian wines from 4 Georgian wine producers have been awarded 90+ points from the June issue of the prestigious Wine & Spirits Magazine. Leading the way with the highest score is the 2014 Vinoterra Kisi with 92 points of which Editor in Chief Tara Q Thomas writes “This wine has such clarity to its succulent fruit flavors that it’s hard to believe at first that its traditionally vilified in earthenware qvevri…An elegant qvevri wine”
Wines from Batano, Maranuli, Schuchmann Vinoterra and Shalauri wineries all received scores of 90+ points.
Georgian wine has been growing in popularity in the US with great effort on consumer relations from importers and campaigns from the National Wine Agency of Georgia. With this year’s ratings it brings the total of 16 wines in our portfolio to receive 90+ points. A growing interest especially in qvevri wine has spurred on international recognition and the categorization of the ancient and unique style from Georgia.
