About Wine
Our Amber Blend is a blend of four indigenous white Georgian grape varieties – Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi, harvested from our vineyards planted at the foot of the Caucasus mountains in Kakheti, the eastern most region of Georgia. If you have never had an amber wine, our wine is for you. This unique blend of white grapes is aged on the skins for 6-months giving the wine its distinctive amber color. The tradition of fermenting and aging white grapes on their skins is a thousands-year-old continuous Georgian tradition of which we are honored to be a part. In addition to a lovely color, the skin-contact imbues the wine with distinctive notes of dried peach, fuller body, soft tannin and thus creates a fifth category of wine that likely predates red, white, rosé and sparkling. Some call it “skin-contact" and some “orange”, but since forever in Georgia the category was named Amber and so our name honors this tradition.

About Wine
Wine made from Georgian indigenous grape variety Saperavi, using Georgian ancient traditional technology – wine is made in “Qvevri” the clay vessel that is buried underground. Fermentation process continues 10 days. Once the fermentation is finished, grape skins are removed from the wine. Grapes are harvested in village Kisiskhevi, from our own vineyards. It should be mentioned that making Saperavi in Qvevri is not only the technology that excites, but right temperature in the vessel allows, to perfectly ferment and greatly condition the wine, 25 % of ripe and dried stems are used during the fermentation to give wine more softness and velvety. Application of this technique has not a mass character. As a result, only limited quantity is available.

About Wine
Gravitas is a sepage of two endemic grape verietals of Kisi and Khikhvi, which grow together in a single vinyard in Kvareli, Kakheti. Both grape varietals were driven nearly to extinction in the Soviet era and were revived as by the recent generation of traditional Georgian winemakers. Kisi is one with a delicate and volatile character, wheareas Khikhvi has its feet on the ground. It can even be coarse and harsh if not handled properly. Despite their differences, the marriage is an unusually solid one. Thus the name Gravitas: the opposing characteristics are pulled together by a mysterious force of gravity. The vineyard is 20 years old. Hand harvested, Kisi and Khikvi fermented in full harmony in qvevri with skin contact and 30% stems for 4 full months. 3,000 bottles produced.

This rare and difficult to say variety is sourced from their estate in the village of Obcha. All red varietals grown in Imereti are higher acid, lower sugar grapes due to the humidity of the region. Otskhanuri Sapere is especially known for its ridiculously dark color. The grape is notoriously hard to work with since it is difficult to get the necessary sugar levels. 2019 was a typical year so this was the last grape they picked in the second week of November. All the fruit is estate grown, hand picked and hand sorted. After destemming the wine is pressed and put into qvevri with skins and fermentation starts spontaneously. About Wine
The wine is made of 100% (Muscat Lunel, for which the grape was harvested from the Szentvér vineyard in the middle of September 2015. The nice sunny weather and the optimal harvesting conditions helped us to make this light, but still very characteristic Muscat Lunel wine with all attributes to the Tokaj wine region. To achieve our main goal to keep all fragrances, fruity aromas and the generic character of the variety, both fermentation and ageing were conducted in anaerobe conditions. The final result is a light and charming wine with some fresh character.

About Wine
2015 produced a fruity and well-balanced wines in the Tokaj wine region. Due to the unique soil structure and microclimate of the wine region, we managed to harvest fully ripen and healthy grapes at the end of September in the relatively warm year. Messzelátó vineyard, the plot where the grape comes from, is an isolated area surrounded by forest, where the vines are cultivated using natural methods and bio cultivation, without applying chemicals. It was made of 100% of Furmint variety, the majority of the juice was fermented in stainless steel, while the remaining part fermented and aged in barrels. It gives a pleasure to drink this wine, indeed, beside the beautiful pear, quince and citrus fruitiness, it also bears some minerality , which is quite characteristic to Tokaji Furmint wines.

About Wine
Bagrationi 1882 Reserve Brut is produced in the Traditional Method, also known as Méthode Champenoise. The grapes are handpicked, hand sorted and whole cluster pressed. A mixture of sugar and yeast, known as liqueur de tirage, is added to the blended wine which is then divided into individual bottles. The bottles are then sealed and a second alcohol fermentation takes place in the bottle. The fermentation process, which generates carbon dioxide, dissolves into the wine under pressure and creates the all important bubbles. The bottles are stored neck down and turned slightly every day to collect the yeast. This process is called “riddling.” The plug of yeast is then removed through disgorging without allowing the sparkling wine to escape. The Bagrationi 1882 Reserve Brut requires a minimum of one year to create a very delicate and complex sparkling wine.

About Wine
Vinoterra's Mtsvane is leading the way to a new renaissance of the Mtsvane (Mah-sa-vah-nay) grape varietal. Gogi Dakishvili started the Vinoterra Brand back in 2003 to help preserve traditional Georgian Qvevri wine making techniques by crafting commercial wines that communicate the distinct kakhetian style of qvevri wines while at the same time having broad appeal to markets that are unfamiliar with amber style wines. Burkhard Schuchmmann fell in love with the wines in 2008 and brought investment to grow the brand and winery.
