Lynne Fahy, Head Winemaker

Lynne jests that her winemaking career started with a love of beer. While studying Pre-Physical Therapy and Exercise Science at Baldwin Wallace University, she worked many jobs. Including work at a bar/restaurant that had 40 rotating taps of craft beer. It’s where she really began to discover how much flavor beverages could have and how many different styles/types there were.

Uncertain about whether or not she wanted to actually become a physical
therapist, she met someone that suggested she try out winemaking as a
way to get into fermentation. Harvest was coming up in the southern
hemisphere, so Lynne set off to New Zealand to work her first harvest.
While in New Zealand she worked for a large custom crush facility in
Blenheim, and was fortunate to work with Pinot Noir in a sea of Sauvignon
Blanc. She was hooked. This led her to apply for her next harvest on the West Coast, where she accepted a job as an intern at Trisaetum Winery. Not only did she have the opportunity to work with Trisaetum, but also Maison Louis Jadot. They were beginning their Oregon project, Resonance, and using Trisaetum’s facility to start production until they could build their own. After working harvest she was offered a full time job and where she would continue to work for 2.5 years.

While at Trisaetum she worked primarily with Pinot Noir and Riesling. It is where she became passionate about Riesling and fell in love with all of its complexities. She began to think about where might be the best place to continue to pursue Riesling perfection. After deciding on the FLX wine industry, she

returned to her home outside of Rochester NY. She had her first break working as the Assistant Manager at Ravines Wine Cellars. After a year at Ravines she was offered the Assistant Winemaking job at Anthony Road Wine Company, where she spent 2.5 years, before being approached by Keuka Spring Vineyards for the Head Winemaking job.

Outside of winemaking Lynne is an avid outdoors person. She enjoys trekking in faraway places, canoeing/kayaking on Seneca Lake, and running long distances. In her down time she enjoys hosting, cooking for her friends and drinking champagne, beer or a good cocktail.
