About Wine
This 2013 Mtsvane is one of this special wines that once you try it you never forget it. This Mtsvane shows you a new elegance of the the qvevri style Mtsvane. Shalauri Wine Cellars sources their Mtsvane grapes from the Kistauri zone of Kakheti region. This artisanal wine is produced by the traditional Qvevri Method -- an 8,000 year old uniquely Georgian that utilizes a huge clay jar, Qvevri, buried underneath the ground to allow wine fermentation and aging in an even, naturally cool condition. This wine sees extended skin contact, 6 months, in the case of the Mtsvane, and low interference in the vilification process.

Tasting Notes
The Shalauri Mtsvane takes advantage of the aromatic nature of Mtsvane (recommended to Decant). Pour it in the glass, smell it, swirl 5-10 times and smell again; it is as if a bouquet of fresh cut flowers has just bloomed in your glass. Honey and dried fruit mingled with herbs, nuttiness and firm tannin are all present in this complex layered wine.
